Find Parking For Seattle Sports Landmarks
October 4, 2022

Boston, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles are the cities that come to mind when you think of great American sports cities. However, keeping Seattle not being in that conversation is a massive injustice. Seattle is made up of several relatively young teams that have seen massive success and placed themselves promptly in the heart of Seattle’s culture. Please keep reading below so we can help you find parking for Seattle sports landmarks!
Lumen Field
Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks joined the NFL as an expansion team for the AFC West in 1976. Although 1976 seems worlds away, the Seahawks are a fairly young NFL team. Seattle is incredibly passionate about their Seahawks and consistently pack Lumen Field to show their support. The Seahawks fan base is collectively referred to as the “12th man”. A football team has 11 players on either side of the ball at any given moment. The unbelievable volume and energy of the crowd is the hypothetical 12th player on the field due to the advantage they give the Seahawks. The team’s fans twice set the Guinness World Record for the loudest crowd noise at a sporting event within the span of a few months. The Seahawks have played in three superbowls, winning one in the 2013-2014 season.
Seattle Sounders FC
Soccer is the fastest growing sport in America, but there is a lot of ground to be gained as soccer is the most popular sport in the world by a longshot. The MLS is still not on the level of other major leagues but they are slowly working into that conversation. The Sounders joined the MLS in 2007 and began play in 2009 as an expansion team. Majority owner Adrian Hanauer lead the charge to bring the MLS to Seattle and has seen significant success since. They have been among the league’s most succesful teams. The Sounders won the US Open Cup four times, the Supporters’ Shield in 2014, and the MLS Cup in 2016 and 2019. They have qualified for the MLS playoff every year since joining the league 12 years ago, an impressive accomplishment.

They are the first professional hockey team to play in Seattle since the Seattle Totems played their last game in 1975. The team’s name comes from the mythical kraken of Scandinavian folklore and its resemblance to the native giant Pacific octopus, which is found in the waters of the Puget Sound, near Seattle.
